Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Fresh Houssem Aouar approach, £5m Reading starlet linked

The transfer window is now officially over.

Both the standard and domestic windows have closed, meaning Arsenal can no longer do business of any kind until January.

But that won't stop the rumours from continuing to fly in with the January window only a couple of months away.

Below we take you through all the latest from the rumour mill as it pertains to the Gunners.

Fresh Aouar approach

Arsenal are unlikely to make a move for summer target Houssem Aouar in the summer window but could return next summer.

That's according to Goal, who say Aouar could be back on the table next summer after Mesut Ozil's contract is off the books.

It's said the Gunners can't afford Aouar as things stand following Thomas Partey's arrival.

But if Mikel Arteta can shift players next summer, an Aouar deal could be back on the table, according to Goal.

Reading youngster linked

Arsenal are said to be eyeing up Reading talent Michael Olise.

According to the Reading Chronicle, the Gunners are one of a number of sides interested in the 18-year-old.

Reading are said to value Olise in excess of £5million with Leeds United and Wolves also linked.

Olise has featured heavily for the Royals in their perfect start to the season.

Saliba stay confirmed

Arteta has closed the door on a William Saliba exit this season.

The young defender was tipped to leave on loan during the domestic window, which shut yesterday, but he will not stay put.

And he could yet stay throughout January with Arteta telling the club website: “Not at the moment," when asked about the youngster's future.

Asked if Saliba will be staying at the club this season, he replied: "Yes."
