Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Emery's Zaha swap plan revealed, shock move for Spurs star

The transfer window is well and truly open and Arsenal have already made a transfer, but the Gunners are planning several more moves to strengthen their squad.

Unai Emery has a challenging rebuild ahead, with the departures of Danny Welbeck, Petr Cech, Aaron Ramsey and Stephan Lichtsteiner leaving the squad in need of reinforcements.

Arsenal completed the deal to bring Gabriel Martinelli this week, and are thought to be looking for a central defender, a midfielder and a winger this summer, so who will arrive at the Emirates in the next month? Here's a look at the latest Arsenal transfer rumours:

Wilfried Zaha

According to  Goal , Arsenal could offer Carl Jenkinson, Calum Chambers or Mohamed Elneny in any potential deal for Wilfried Zaha.

The Gunners have had an initial £40m bid rejected, but could return with a part-exchange offer, with the Crystal Palace winger remaining the number one attacking target this summer.

Zaha has made his intentions to leave Selhurst Park clear, with his brother Judicael hoping that the Eagles will let his brother go.

He told Sky Sports: "Given all that Wilfried has given to Crystal Palace to help them remain a (English) Premier League club, I hope Palace will be able to see their way to agreeing a deal with Arsenal that allows Wilfried to realise his dream of playing European football for the club he's supported since childhood."

Toby Alderweireld

Arsenal are reportedly planning a shock move for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld this summer transfer window, as his release clause is just £25m this summer.

According to football operations and communications consultant Ian McGarry, the Gunners are looking at possibilities of making the deal happen.

He told the Reach plc Transfer Window podcast: "The problem [Arsenal] are going to have with this is they are offering not to pay up front, but over the course of one year, the €28m [£25m] clause.

"Alderweireld is very tempted to look at a career where he doesn’t need to uproot his family, his life, because obviously these training grounds are quite close to each other.

"Therefore moving to the Emirates would in one way be quite an ‘easy’ thing to do.

"It would not be easy in what Spurs fans would think about that, but I think it’s something that makes sense for Arsenal given their transfer budget is less than €50m [£45m] all-in."

Fagner

Arsenal have reportedly been told by potential sporting director Edu to make a move for Brazil defender Fagner.

With Stephan Lichtsteiner leaving the club this summer and Carl Jenkinson widely expected to follow him, the Gunners only have two players capable of playing right-back in Hector Bellerin and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

With Bellerin not yet back from injury and Maitland-Niles not a true recognised right-back,  Fox Sports Radio Brasil  report that Edu has suggested Arsenal should move for Fagner.

The 30-year-old currently plays for Corinthians in Brazil, and could be available at a cheaper price than some alternatives rumoured to be of interest to Unai Emery.

Fagner has been at Corinthians for four years, after stints in Europe with PSV Eindhoven and Wolfsburg.

Malcom

According to the Mirror, Arsenal have been offered Barcelona’s Malcom - but the Gunners would prefer to focus on Wilfried Zaha.

Brazilian Malcom only moved to Spain last summer, having been linked with switches from Bordeaux to both the Gunners and north London rivals Tottenham.

The winger has looked set to join Roma and travelled to the Italian capital to put the final touches on a switch to the Stadio Olimpico - only to pull out at the last moment when a surprise big-money offer from Catalunya arrived.

Lucas Vazquez

With their attempts to sign Wilfried Zaha stalling, Arsenal have launched a bid to sign Real Madrid star Lucas Vazquez, according to  AS  .

The Spanish newspaper claim the two clubs have already entered negotiations over the winger, with the Gunners set to enter talks with the player over a deal worth €35m which could be concluded early next week.

The price tag would see the north London club pay an initial £28.7m, with a further £2.7m in add-ons attached to the deal.

Emery has reportedly requested to make the deal happen and the transfer could be completed before Real fly out for their US tour on Tuesday.
