Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Edu targets next big-name Portuguese talent, Gunners eye Malen

Arsenal bounced back from last Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Manchester City by making a winning start to their Europa League campaign on Thursday night.

The Gunners recovered from 1-0 down to defeat Rapid Vienna 2-1 away from home, with second half goals from David Luiz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sealing a winning start to the group stages for Mikel Arteta's side.

There was also a first Gunners start from new signing Thomas Partey in Austria and he delivered an assured showing in the middle of the park, breaking up play and instigating attacks.

It was just what Arteta would have wanted to have seen from the Ghanaian international, who sealed a move to the Emirates Stadium almost three weeks ago.

Despite having spent £45million on luring Partey to north London, the Gunners are highly likely to look to add to his arrival in January, with French midfielder Houssem Aouar one player who continues to be linked with a move.

With that in mind, here is a round-up of all the very latest Arsenal transfer rumours and gossip in one place.

Gunners keen on Portuguese starlet

Arsenal are one of several big-name clubs expressing an interest in signing Sporting Lisbon left-back Nuno Mends, a report by Calciomercato claims.

The 18-year-old left-back is one of European football's most exciting prospects and is attracting interest from a whole host of clubs across the continent.

It is claimed that Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are three English clubs interested in securing his signature whilst Spanish giants Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid are also keen.

Mendes, too, is attracting interest from Italy, with AC Milan and Juventus keen on the youngster, who has made five appearances for the Lisbon first-team so far this season, scoring once.

Malen set for Arsenal return?

PSV Eindhoven striker Donyell Malen is being linked with a switch to Arsenal - just three years after he left the Emirates Stadium.

The 21-year-old Dutchman left the Gunners to return to his homeland in 2017 and his since excelled in the Dutch top-flight.

Now, according to a report by Soccernews, as relayed by Sports Mole, Arsenal are keen on bringing him back to England, but will face competition from the likes of Barcelona and Juventus.

His form for PSV over the last couple of seasons has been impressive, with the striker boasting a record of 33 goals in 79 games.

Jorginho was open to summer transfer

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has admitted that he was open to swapping Stamford Bridge for the Emirates Stadium during the summer transfer window.

As Arsenal worked tirelessly to try and find themselves a new central-midfielder, they expressed an interest in signing Chelsea's penalty-taking king.

Now, following the fact that no move ever came to fruition, the Italian has revealed that he would have been open to joining the Gunners.

The Italy international said: "I believe that every player is open to negotiations.

“So I believe there was something they talked about. And in the end it was decided, chosen that I stay here.

“And now my head is here and we’re going to do a great job with Chelsea, which I always wanted to do.”
