Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Calum Chambers loan decision, Vinicius Junior interest

Arsenal are set for a busy end to the January transfer window as they look to complete two more signings and there could also be a number of potential outgoings.

The Gunners signed Mat Ryan on loan from Brighton for the remainder of the season and now need to offload a non-homegrown player to make room for the incoming Martin Odegaard.

Odegaard is also expected to join on loan for the remainder of the season, while Arteta is also looking for a left-back following Sead Kolasinac's exit to join Schalke.

With both incoming and outgoing deals on the cards, it's set to be a busy week in north London and we've gathered some of the latest rumours.

Chambers loan ruled out

Mikel Arteta has ruled out a potential loan exit for Calum Chambers before the transfer window comes to a close next week.

The centre-back returned from an extended injury spell in December during the Europa League clash against Rapid Vienna but is yet to appear in the Premier League amid competition alongside Shkodran Mustafi, David Luiz, Gabriel Magalhaes, Rob Holding and Pablo Mari.

However, Arteta has no plans to send Chambers out on a temporary basis: "I don’t think that is going to happen, I am really happy with Calum. He has gone through a really difficult period. He has worked so hard. He has looked really good in the last few weeks in training.

"He is not even thinking about his knee right now. We want to give him minutes when we can because he is a player that we believe in."

Vinicius Junior interest

Arsenal and Premier League rivals Liverpool are in the running to sign Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior, according to Diario Madridista.

The 20-year-old is highly-rated as one of the best up-and-coming young forwards in world football but has struggled for form this season, scoring just three goals in 23 appearances - 10 of which have been a starter.

As a result, he could be offloaded with Los Blancos looking to raise funds to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.

It is also claimed PSG hold an interest in Vinicius, which opens-up the prospect of a player-plus-cash deal being offered to the Ligue 1 champions.

Martin Odegaard latest

Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid, with plenty of developments being covered by Football.London here.

The Gunners are poised to bring in the 22-year-old on loan until the remainder of the season and will not have an option to make a deal permanent.

A Norway international, Odegaard requested a loan exit from the Spanish capital due to limited opportunities in Zinedine Zidane's side.

Real Sociedad, where the midfielder played on loan last season, were also interested in a deal but Arsenal have won the race for his services.
