Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Aubameyang replacement identified as Man United eye ex-Gunner

While Arsenal are unlikely to spend large amounts this summer, given they are on course for another season without Champions League football, Mikel Arteta will still want to make a few shrewd additions where possible.

Though William Saliba is finally set to arrive from St Etienne and bolster the back line, Arsenal could still do with improvements across defence and midfield. They could also lose one of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette this summer, which would leave them looking for a suitable replacement.

With work to do across the board, then, here are all the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.

Arsenal: The season so far

Jovic could be brought in to replace Aubameyang

Were Aubameyang to leave the club this summer, Arsenal would lose their top scorer and a man who guarantees at least 25 goals a season. They would need to make up the difference somehow and, according to The Mirror, they may look to Luka Jovic.

Jovic has scored only two goals in 24 appearances for Real Madrid this season and, as such, may seem like an unlikely saviour. Arteta reportedly thinks he has all the right attributes to lead the line for Arsenal, however, and might be able to negate his £50m price tag by reinvesting the money made from cashing in on Aubameyang.

Rodriguez transfer could be back on this summer

Arsenal are still insistently pursuing a move for James Rodriguez, who has failed to force his way back into contention with Real Madrid this term after returning from his loan at Bayern Munich.

A report from Marca suggests Arsenal bid for Rodriguez last year but he did not want to move to England. His options have dwindled, though, with interest from Napoli and Atletico Madrid evaporating in recent months, so he may reconsider a move to the Premier League.

Ramsey to Man United as Pogba goes the other way?

Former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey could be offered to Manchester United as part of a deal to bring Paul Pogba back to Juventus.

According to the Transfer Window Podcast, Manchester United remain open to selling Pogba for the right price and would be willing to negotiate with Ramsey as a bargaining chip. Solskjaer is apparently a fan of Ramsey and thinks he would be a good fit in United’s midfield alongside Bruno Fernandes.
