The future of the remainder of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign was plunged into doubt on Friday with the news that all fixtures in England's top four tiers have been postponed until April 3 at the earliest.
This decision has been made due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, which is showing very little sign of getting better any time soon.
The virus is currently causing havoc and chaos across the globe and the Premier League has been hit as a result of that.
But even though it feels incredibly odd not to have any football matches taking place at this time of the year, the correct decision has been made, with the health of the UK's population having to come first.
Though this situation is far from ideal, this period of no on-field action taking place could hand Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta, who says he is already "feeling better" after being diagnosed with COVID-19 just a few days ago, the chance to try and set out some plans for the upcoming summer transfer window.
With that in mind, here is a round-up of the very latest Arsenal transfer news.
Arsenal not prepared to meet Aubameyang wage demands
Arsenal will be prepared to sell star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer if the club and player cannot reach an agreement over a new contract, according to the Express.
The Gabon international, who has scored 17 times in the Premier League this season, is out-of-contract at the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2021, meaning time is running out for the Gunners to tie the former Borussia Dortmund man down to a new contract.
In recent months, the striker has been subject of big interest from La Liga giants Barcelona, as they look to try and source a new long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.
However, Barcelona have now ended their interest in the 30-year-old. It is claimed that Aubameyang is demanding a £300,000-a-week deal in North London, which is a 30% increase on his current deal.
Arsenal plot Issa Diop move
In an attempt to solve their defensive troubles this summer, Arsenal are lining up a move for West Ham United centre-back Issa Diop, report the Mail.
A big summer of alternation looms heavy at the Emirates, particularly in a defensive sense, with Arteta desperate to add fresh blood to his defensive options.
And it is reported that Diop could be just the answer that Arteta is looking for, with the 23-year-old Frenchman having impressed in what has been a troubled season for the Hammers.
However, the Gunners' hopes of landing Diop may not come so easily as the London Stadium club firmly rebuffed Manchester United's interest in the defender last season.
Arsenal linked with 16-year-old Middleborough starlet, Calum Kavanagh
Just Arsenal are reporting that the Gunners are showing an interest in signing highly-rated Middlesbrough striker Calum Kavanagh this summer.
The 16-year-old, who is the son of former Cardiff City and Stoke City midfielder Graham, is highly-rated by the Championship club's academy and is being linked with a move away from the Teesside club.
Middlesbrough are acutely aware that they have a rising star on their hands but may struggle to fend off the level of interest that is currently being shown in him.
Alongside Arsenal in the race to sign the teenager is fellow Premier League giants Chelsea.
