Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Amadou Diawara interest confirmed, Gunners eye Brentford duo

Arsenal got the new season underway on Saturday with a win as they beat Liverpool in the Community Shield.

Away from the pitch, the Gunners continue to make their preparations for the new campaign, with defender Gabriel Magalhaes close to joining the club.

Yet there is plenty more business to do if Mikel Arteta's side plan to close the gap on the top four this season.

With that in mind, here is a round-up of the very latest Arsenal transfer rumours.

Mikel Arteta confident Aubameyang will sign again with Arsenal

Arsenal interest in Diawara

Amadou Diawara's agent claims Arsenal are interested in the AS Roma midfielder, who is "pleased" by recent transfer links.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks, with a potential swap deal involving Lucas Torreira mooted.

Diawara's agent, Daniele Piraino, told Tuttomercatoweb: "He is concentrated on his career.

"Diawara is at a top club like Roma, where he is happy, as there is enthusiasm around the new owners.

"However, he is also liked by many clubs in England, including Arsenal.

"Being linked with certain clubs is pleasing for him, as these are prestigious sides.

"Amadou is concentrated on football and his career."

Maitland-Niles decision

Arsenal could be ready to perform a dramatic U-turn and keep Ainsley Maitland-Niles after his impressive display against Liverpool.

Wolves have been chasing Maitland-Niles, have made a £15million bid and want to return with a new offer which has left Arsenal fans in uproar at the prospect of him leaving.

Maitland-Niles has got three years left on his current deal, is not one of the club’s top earners but his heroics could persuade the club to give him a new contract rather than have to move to another club, report The Mirror.

Arteta has gone public on Maitland-Niles being part of his plans and he has now become a firm fans’ favourite.

Arsenal fancy Brentford pair

Arsenal are preparing to raid Championship promotion hopefuls Brentford for star duo Said Benrahma and David Raya.

The Bees are expected to attract Premier League interest in their star players after missing out on promotion to Fulham last season.

90min report that Raya is being targeted as a potential replacement for Emiliano Martinez, while 25-year-old Benrahma has also been recommended after a number of standout showings during the 2019/20 season.
