Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: Adam Lallana update, £40m Jonathan Tah becomes 'top target'

Arsenal secured their biggest win of the Mikel Arteta era against Newcastle United at the weekend and are now preparing for the Spaniard's first European game as a manager.

The two-legged tie against Olympiacos in the first hurdle for the Gunners in the knockout stages of the Europa League, as they look to go one-step further in their continental campaign than they did last term.

While there has been significant improvements, there is still plenty of improvements to be made and the summer transfer window is going to be crucial.

As such, there is plenty of rumours floating around and we have gathered some of the latest for the Gunners below.

Art de Roche in Athens ahead of Arsenal vs Olympiacos

Adam Lallana update

Leicester City have made an approach to sign Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana ahead of the expiration of his contract at the end of the season, Sky Sports reports.

The 31-year-old will depart Anfield in the summer in search of regular first-team football and has courted the attention of a host of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Tottenham.

He is currently free to discuss terms with clubs outside of England and sign a pre-contract ahead of the summer but Leicester have declared their interest early.

Liverpool have given Lallana permission to plan his future after making it clear he would not be offered fresh terms with the Premier League champions elect.

£40m Tah becomes 'top target'

Arsenal's hunt for defensive reinforcements in the summer transfer window has seen them turn their attention towards Bayer Leverkusen's Jonathan Tah, Bild reports.

The 24-year-old has reportedly become the Gunners top target ahead of the end of the season and they can secure his services by matching his £40m release clause.

However, Mikel Arteta's side will have to move swiftly to land the German defender as that clause expires in June - which means Arsenal must secure a deal ahead of the European Championships.

Capped nine times by Germany, Tah is highly rated in the Bundesliga and would provide a significant boost to Arsenal's defensive line.

Man City target Gnabry

Manchester City are targeting a move for former Arsenal youngster Serge Gnabry as Bayern Munich continue to eye Leroy Sane, The Sun reports.

Gnabry has been in superb form for the Bundesliga champions this season, with a highlight of his campaign being hitting four against Tottenham in the Champions League.

The report states that Pep Guardiola has personally scouted the 24-year-old this season, with City looking at the Germany international as a replacement for Sane.

That opens the possibility of Bayern completing a player-plus-cash deal for Sane, who is currently sidelined with a long-term injury.
