Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: €30m Saliba deal could be done in coming weeks, Carrasco latest

With the club season well and truly over, Arsenal are now looking ahead to next campaign.

While the Gunners delivered initial improvement under Unai Emery, including a 22-game unbeaten run, recording more points and reaching a European final, the north Londoners again missed out on their ultimate goal of Champions League qualification.

Arsenal have already confirmed the departures of Danny Welbeck, Petr Cech, Aaron Ramsey and Stephan Lichtsteiner; and the squad is set for an overhaul this summer, so who will arrive at the Emirates to replace them? Here's a look at the latest Arsenal transfer rumours:

William Saliba

Arsenal’s talks with Saint-Etienne about a move for William Saliba are said to be progressing well.

The Gunners are said to have taken the lead in negotiations ahead of the likes of Manchester United, and a deal could be finalised in the coming weeks, according to  Le 10 Sport .

Saint-Etienne are said to want €30m for the 18-year-old, and are hoping to take the defender back on loan for another year.

Yannick Carrasco

Arsenal target Yannick Carrasco has stated that “everyone knows” he wants a move back to Europe, and his future now depends on Dalian Yifang’s club president.

The Gunners have been strongly linked with a £27m move for the 25-year-old, who made the move to the Chinese Super League 18 months ago. They attempted to sign the Belgium international in January but were unable to get a deal done, signing Denis Suarez on a six-month loan deal instead.

Carrasco is thought to be in favour of a move to Arsenal, but Bayern Munich are also reportedly interested in a move should they be unable to convince Manchester City to sell Leroy Sane. Carrasco says he is hoping for a solution soon.

"Everyone knows I want to return to Europe. Now it depends on my president and I hope a solution is found.

"I can’t speak of the [interested] club, but I hope that everything can be sorted.

"I’m not the one who decides. That’s my president. He will decide if he lets me leave or not, but I hope I can return."

Lorenzo Pellegrini

Arsenal have made contact over Roma ace Lorenzo Pellegrini - but the Gunners face a race to snap up the £27m midfielder in instalments as they look to balance the books this summer.

Pellegrini’s agent is believed to have already fielded a call from Arsenal according to latest reports from Italy.

The 22-year-old has caught the eye of several clubs, with Arsenal facing competition from Tottenham, AC Milan and Inter Milan for his signature.

But Roma are in no hurry to sell, and want to tie him to a new deal in order to remove a clause in his contract that says he can move for 30million euros (£27m).

That fee would be payable in two equal instalments, and such a deal would suit Unai Emery’s Arsenal, who are operating on a limited budget this summer after failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Calum Chambers

Lazio are reportedly interested in taking Calum Chambers from Arsenal this summer in a move worth around €14m.

The Serie A side are targeting defensive reinforcements and according to  Il Messaggero , the club are casting their eye over English talent, with Chambers and Newcastle defender Jamaal Lascelles both mentioned.

Chambers spent last season on loan at Fulham where he earned the club’s Player of the Season accolade, winning almost 50% of the fans’ vote.
