Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: £27m defender targeted, Dembele interest, Osimhen offer

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be looking to get down to work on his side this summer as the transfer window nears.

The Gunners will be hoping to secure European football before the season finishes, and despite being held to a 1-1 draw against Leicester City on Tuesday, are well-placed in seventh.

Nevertheless, Arteta will be eyeing up a few changes to his squad, with a few incomings and outgoings expected during the window.

Arsenal 1-1 Leicester: Mikel Arteta press conference

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from the Emirates Stadium.

Spanish defender targeted

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Athletic Bilbao defender Unai Nunez, but could face competition from West Ham and Everton.

Nunez is understood to have a €30m (£27m) release clause in his contract, although Bilbao have been trying to tie him down to a new deal.

AS ( via Sport Witness ) reports that the Gunners, along with the Hammers and the Toffees, are taking a look at the centre-back, with AC Milan and Monaco also interested.

Despite the interest, Bilbao are yet to receive any firm offers, with Nunez set to get more game time following Yeray Alvarez’s injury against Real Madrid.

Dembele interest

The Gunners are reported to be one of the teams interested in signing Lyon’s Moussa Dembele this summer.

Dembele has scored 42 goals in 88 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit since joining from Celtic two years ago.

According to Foot Mercato, Arsenal are among the sides interested in signing the striker this summer, along with Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.

Lyon, though, still hope to hold on to Dembele, with manager Rudi Garcia saying: “I can categorically say that we did not receive an offer.”

Osimhen waiting on offer

Victor Osimhen will reject a move to Napoli as he awaits an offer from the Premier League, with Arsenal reported to be one of the sides interested.

Osimhen reportedly met with Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso, but has decided against a move to the Serie A club.

The Lille striker has now set his sights on a move to the Premier League and, according to Football Italia, is waiting for Arsenal or Manchester United to step up.

Napoli are reported to have been due to pay a €50m fee for the Nigeria international, who scored 18 goals in 38 games this season.
