Latest Arsenal transfer rumours: £26.9m Kluivert deal, Mavropanos exit, Stones solution

Arsenal are still picking up the pieces from Sunday's North London derby defeat to Tottenham.

The Gunners now have a lot to do in order to qualify for Europe and it hits home just how much Mikel Arteta needs to improve the squad this summer.

We have already seen a whole host of names linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Below, we take a look at the latest transfer news surrounding the club.

Arsenal 'in the running' for Kluivert

Arsenal could yet pursue a move for AS Roma winger Justin Kluivert.

The Dutchman was touted to be part of a team which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head for Serie A.

But talks over a swap deal never took place and that looked to be that.

Today, however, Italian outlet Correio Dello Sport have reported that Arsenal are still 'in the running' for Kluivert ahead of this summer.

The report claims Roma value their 21-year-old talent at around €30m (£26.9m).

Gunners should make a move for Stones

Arsenal should turn to John Stones to fix their defensive woes.

That's according to pundit Jamie Redknapp, who believes the Gunners should swoop in and take Stones away from the Etihad Stadium, the England defender being touted to leave this summer.

“I’m wondering, what's next for John Stones?” Redknapp wrote in his column for the Daily Mail. “One of Virgil van Dijk's biggest assets is his decision-making. He knows when to play and when to put the ball into row Z.

“With Stones, that's been a downfall. He is quick, strong and brave in the air but he's made high-profile mistakes.

“The spotlight has been on him since he was signed from Everton for £47.5million so his errors always catch attention.

“But Stones is still only 26 — the same age Van Dijk was when he joined Liverpool. He is young enough to mould, but has only started once in the league under Pep Guardiola since January.

“Arsenal need a centre back, and Mikel Arteta knows Stones from his City days. That could be a good fit.”

Stuttgart eye Arsenal youngster

Arsenal's Konstantinos Mavropanos could be targetted by Stuttgart this summer.

According to Kicker, Stuttgart will look to shop on a budget this season despite winning promotion this season.

And with that in mind, sporting director Sven Mislintat has cast his eye on Mavropanos ahead of next season.

The report suggests Stuttgart are hoping to sign the 22-year-old centre-back on loan.

Mavropano spent the second half of this season on loan at Nurnberg.
