Mikel Arteta appears to be steering Arsenal in the right direction following two impressive wins against Newcastle and Olympiacos.
The Spaniard’s emphasis on using young players has helped the Gunners massively, with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli being particularly impressive in recent weeks.
However, if Arsenal are to start fighting for the Champions League places once again, some new talent is needed to add depth to the squad.
Here are the latest Arsenal transfer rumours.
Arsenal target Soler
Arsenal are targeting Valencia’s Carlos Soler this summer.
The club have been monitoring the 23-year-old for some time, although he did sign a new deal at the Mestalla in December, increasing his buyout clause to a whopping £140million.
The Gunners made discreet enquiries about the young Spaniard before he signed his new deal and have been impressed by his performances, including scoring in the Champions League last season.
Elneny latest
Besiktas have urged Arsenal to lower their asking price for on-loan midfielder Mohamed Elneny.
A source close to the Turkish club has revealed that they want Elneny to stay beyond the end of this season.
Elneny joined the Turkish giants last summer, and there is an £18m option to make the deal permanent. However, due to the club’s financial position, it is ‘near impossible’ for them to meet the asking price.
Besiktas have sent a delegation to London to meet with Arsenal in the hopes of reaching a compromise.
Arsenal want Serie A midfielder
Arsenal are reportedly considering a summer swoop for Roma midfielder Bryan Cristante.
The 24-year-old has scored once and assisted twice in 17 appearances for the Serie A side this season.
And according to Italian outfit Calciomercato, the Gunners are planning to send a scout to watch Roma’s game with Lecce at the weekend in the hopes of seeing the Italian international take part.
Cristante only joined Roma from Atalanta last summer in a deal worth around £20million.
