Aston Villa are to make a surprise loan move for Arsenal striker Eddie Nktiah.

The youngster spent the first half of the season on loan at Leeds United but was recalled at the start of the January transfer window after starting only two Championship games.

It looked as if the 20-year-old would head back out to the Championship this month, however, according to Bristol Live, Villa could sign him to aid their relegation battle.

Dean Smith is desperate to sign a new striker this month, with Wesley ruled out for the rest of the season.

Barcelona are ready to push forward with a bid to sign Red Bull Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano.

The French centre-back has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham all touted as possible destinations.

However, according to Telefoot, Barcelona are keen to sign the 21-year-old with doubts over the long-term future of Samuel Umtiti and with Gerard Pique ageing.

Arsenal chase Cavani deal

Paris-Saint Germain have received bids from Arsenal and Manchester United for Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayan striker is out of contract in the summer and can sign a pre-contract agreement with any European suitor for next season.

According to El Chiringuito, both Arsenal and Manchester United have made offers to sign him in the January transfer window.

Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid have also been credited with an interest in the 32-year-old.
