Latest Arsenal transfer news: Coutinho plays down Gunners move, Gabriel Magalhaes blow

Arsenal may have won the FA Cup thanks to a success over Chelsea but the 2019/20 season could hardly be described as a success.

That's why the summer transfer window is vitally important for the Gunners as they try and rebuild under Mikel Arteta.

This fact has led to plenty of speculation already as the rumour mill continues to go into overdrive.

Here is the latest round-up of gossip on Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta on summer plans and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Coutinho delay

Philippe Coutinho insists he does not want to consider any offers for a move away while Bayern Munich remain in the Champions League.

Arsenal want to sign Coutinho on loan from Barcelona ahead of next season and some reports suggest they have agreed personal terms.

But the Brazilian international is said to have 'slammed the brakes' on a potential move for now, according to Sport, per the Express.

Potential Gabriel blow

Arsenal among other clubs such as Manchester United and Everton have been chasing the services of Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Gunners' hopes of signing the Lille centre-back this summer could be damaged by Uefa's decision to punish the French club for breaching FFP [Financial Fair Play] rules.

Gabriel is understood to be valued at around £25million, which means Arsenal would probably need to offload players to finance the deal.

Arsenal contact midfielder

Arsenal have reached out to Marseille star Morgan Sanson over a potential transfer switch this summer.

That's according to reports in France from Le10 Sport, who say that Arsenal are monitoring the 25-year-old's situation.

Tottenham and West Ham have also been linked with the midfielder.
