Latest Arsenal transfer news: £15m deal, Ligue 1 defender targeted, Real Madrid watch Martinelli

The final few days of the January transfer window proved to be busy for Arsenal and head coach Mikel Arteta, with the Spaniard bolstering his defence with two new additions.

First, he landed Flamengo centre-back Pablo Mari on loan for the remainder of the campaign before drafting in Cedric Soares from Southampton, once again on loan until the end of the season.

However, Arteta, who watched his side play out a goalless draw with Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday, will be desperate for the summer to arrive so he can begin the re-building process at the Emirates Stadium and, hopefully, get some permanent additions through the door.

Arsenal transfer window verdict

Even though the summer transfer window seems quite a way off yet, especially when the January window only closed for business last Friday, it will be here before you know it and already rumours are starting to surface.

Here, we round-up the day's very latest Arsenal transfer news.

Gunners set to sign Feyenoord youngster

Turkish Football are reporting that Arsenal are set to sign Feyenoord's 19-year-old midfielder Orkun Kokcu.

The Turkey Under-21 international has been a regular for the Dutch club in the Eredivise this season and is attracting plenty of interest.

According to the report, the Gunners have already started the process of trying to complete the deal, with a £15million transfer fee being reported.

Lille name their price for Brazilian star

French club Lille have slapped a £30million price tag on centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes, according to the Metro.

The defender has been a key figure for Lille this season and has been attracting plenty of interest from a host of clubs, including Arsenal, who will no doubt still have plans to solve their defensive troubles.

It is also claimed that Arsenal made moves to sign Gabriel during January, but their offers were knocked back. They plan to keep their interest in him ahead of the summer.

Real Madrid keeping tabs on Gunners star

Young Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli is poised to be watched by scouts from Real Madrid, report Tribal Football.

This season has been Martinelli's first in English football and he has proven to be a very exciting prospect, with the Brazilian netting 10 goals in 23 appearances across all competitions.

And those statistics have tempted La Liga giants Madrid into sending scouts to keep close quarters on the 18-year-old.
