Latest 2020 mock draft has Seahawks selecting cornerback

Mock draft season is no longer limited to the winter. With nearly a month until the college football season is set to begin, our friends at Draft Wire are already busy creating 2020 mock drafts.

Their latest has the Seahawks picking 19th overall, and selecting Florida cornerback CJ Henderson.

Henderson is entering his junior year at Florida after two very strong seasons. He led the NCAA with two pick-sixes as a freshman, and has six interceptions total.

Scouts like his speed and burst, believing he can be a shutdown corner on the outside or in the slot. Plus, he is listed at six-foot-one and 191 pounds, a good size for an outside back.

It’s way too early to know what the Seahawks will be looking for come 2020, but after not selecting any corners in 2019 it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Seattle upgrade at that position.

Of course, Seattle almost always built their secondary on late-round picks, so it is entirely possible they wait on defensive backs and look elsewhere in the first round – or trade out.
