Police were called to a recording studio in California last week to confront Scott Weiland's ex-wife amid a dispute over the late rocker's guitars.
Mary Forsberg, who divorced the Stone Temple Pilots frontman in 2007, was reportedly refused access to the studio in Burbank along with her teenage son after they attempted to retrieve one of the late singer's instruments.
They became embroiled in an argument with staff, and police officers were called to the scene to diffuse the situation, according to TMZ.
The website reports the police told Forsberg the dispute over Weiland's possessions is a civil matter and should be addressed by her legal team.

Last month, Forsberg filed a request to become the executor of the late rocker's will instead of his widow, photographer Jamie Wachtel.
Weiland was found dead on his tour bus shortly before a scheduled concert in Bloomington, Minnesota on December 3, and officials later ruled the 48 year old died from an accidental overdose of cocaine, methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), and alcohol.
