Late Scottish chef Andrew Fairlie left £2m fortune in will to his family

Scottish chef Andrew Fairlie left a £2million fortune in his will.

Fairlie, one of the country’s most celebrated chefs, died in January last year aged 55.

He was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2005 and was told in 2018 that no further treatment was available.

His Restaurant Andrew Fairlie at the Gleneagles hotel in Perthshire is the only one in Scotland with two Michelin stars.

Fairlie’s estate was valued at £1,995,000 at the time of his death, including properties in Auchterarder, Perthshire, worth £575,000 and £310,000.

He also had shares worth more than £1million. His will instructed that his estate should be left to his wife Kate and daughters Ilona and Leah from his first marriage.
