Late night 'sex attack' near Glasgow train station sparks major police investigation with cordon in place

A police investigation has been launched after a woman was sexually assaulted on a busy Glasgow street.

Officers have received a report that the victim was attacked on Mitchell Street, near Glasgow Central Station, at around 11.20pm on Friday, November 26.

They say their enquiries are at an early stage but pictures from the area show a cordon in place, blocking off a nearby car park.

Anyone with information is asked to come forward and help officers with their investigation.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.20pm on Friday, 26 November, officers received a report of a sexual assault on a female at Mitchell Street, Glasgow.

“Police enquiries are at an early stage to establish more information on this incident.”
