A man has been arrested following a late night search in Eaglesham.
The man – who has not been charged – was collared by police after a substantial search of the Bonnyton area in the village.
That included support from a police helicopter and a number of marked vehicles.
Police say the man is being questioned in relation to an “ongoing incident,” however, no further details are yet known.
Residents reported online of the helicopter search light in the Hill Drive, Polnoon Street and Bonnyton areas.
The incident is thought to have lasted a number of hours, with residents telling of a police presence from around 1am to 3am.
A car was taped off with police tape on Bonnyton Road and a house in the area searched, with one local posting on Facebook: “The vans were still there at 5am and cops went into a property with the white evidence bags etc.
“Pure drama. Was really intense and CID don’t appear for nothing. Was scary seeing tape go up, dogs, vans and CID.”
