Late night blaze at Bo'ness Bowling Club investigated by cops

A fire at Bo'ness Bowling Club is being investigated by police.

Emergency services raced to the inferno on Grange Terrace just after 11pm last night.

The cause of the blaze is not known, but cops have now taken over the investigation from firefighters.

Pictures and video footage on social media show smoke and flames flying into the air and lighting up the sky.

It's the second time in just over a year that the building, which is no longer occupied, has suffered fire damage.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to a derelict building that was on fire in Grange, Terrace, Bo’ness, at around 11.25pm on Thursday, 15 April.

"The fire service extinguished the fire and there were no casualties. An investigation is ongoing into the cause of the fire, which remains unexplained.

"Anyone with any information that can help the investigation should report this to police on 101 and quote incident number 4131 of 15 April 2021."
