Late Late Toy Show star Adam King receives touching letter from Taoiseach Micheal Martin

Toy Show star Adam King has received a touching letter from Micheal Martin.

The six-year-old stole the hearts of the nation when he showed Ryan Tubridy his "virtual hug" and talked about his dream of working for NASA.

This Christmas, his virtual hug postmark will be on millions of letters delivered around the world.

And the Cork youngster has now gotten a letter from the Taoiseach himself, who told Adam he was "an inspiration".

Mr Martin wrote: “In my speech to the country, I thanked Ireland’s children for their strength and for the way you all have coped with Covid.

“When I was saying it, I could not have believed that just a few hours later the country would see such a perfect example of that strength on ‘The Late Late Toy Show’.

“Your virtual hug and your obvious kindness made the point better than I ever could.

“You are an inspiration Adam. Thank you so much for the strength that you will have given to everyone watching.”

He then invited Adam for a tour of the Irish Air Corps in Baldonnel, before thanking Adam's family and classmates, saying they, along with the staff at Clonpriest National School, were a "great team."

He finished off by wishing Adam a Merry Christmas, and saying he will personally give Santa Claus a "very good report".
