Late Late Toy Show hero Adam King to receive Pride of Cork Award

Seven-year-old Adam King will be recognised for his amazing charity work with a Pride of Cork Award later this year.

The Killeagh boy lit up the screens of the nation on the Late Late Toy Show last year and has captured our hearts since.

The seven-year-old has a rare and lifelong brittle bone condition, called Osteogenesis Imperfecta.

However, Adam has not let it stop him and has gained support from people all over the world including President Joe Biden.

The organisers of the Pride of Cork Awards listed a number of reasons why Adam had been chosen for the special recognition.

"His lovely, warm personality captured the hearts of the nation.

"His engaging way of communicating with people, how he treats everybody around him and the way that he has spoken about the things that he is dreaming about including his dream to work with NASA

"Adam King is one of those very special little boys who has an amazing story of courage, determination and passion for making other people smile.

"Adam is truly deserving of A Pride of Cork Award so that we can all say a huge thank you to him for everything he has done in this past year in particular and pass on to him all the Virtual Hugs in the world for a fulfilling life that we know he has ahead of him.

"Adam is supported in life by his mum and dad Fiona and David and his brothers Danny and Robert and his sisters Katie and Sarah, who all believe that life is an adventure.

"The sharing of Adam's adventures is all about inspiring, supporting and empowering others, especially children and families living with additional needs".

The Pride of Cork Awards 2021 will be hosted by Cork Civic Life on Friday, November 26th at The Clayton Hotel Silver Springs.
