When it comes to the Toy Show, the night itself sometimes seems like almost a sideshow.
For many of us, it's the weeks of speculation – where we devour every tantalising morsel sent our way by host Ryan Tubridy – that make the whole thing irresistible.
This year more than any other, the public have been endlessly and utterly fascinated by the inner workings of a Toy Show that Tubridy says "nearly didn't happen."
In the era of social distancing, we still don't know exactly how things will run tonight – or how RTE will manage the situation for famous guests.
And in an information vacuum, we gossip – we can't help it.
Tonight, many are speculating that the "very special guest singer" may be Gary Barlow of Take That, given that kids on the show will be collaborating for a special cover of Rule the World.

Gary is currently promoting a new album, and he's usually up for participating in a good cause, so it's a fair guess that he might make the night of unsuspecting children on the show.
The other name being thrown around is Ed Sheeran.
The flame-haired troubadour is an old friend of the Toy Show, having appeared on it before to lavish applause.
And there have also been whispers that irrepressible twins Jedward could grace the Toy Show with their huge presence.
Jedward, X Factor finalists in 2009, have become something of a feel-good sensation on social media in recent times, charming many members of the public with personalised messages of love and support.
So it would be apt, in a Toy Show aimed at raising the spirits of the public, for the quiff-headed pair to emerge later on tonight.

It won't just be famous guests who light up the Toy Show tonight, though – there could be some family reunions in store, given the year that's in it.
Tubs has said: "Sometimes, the biggest stars in a child's life have never been on TV, or radio, or movies, in their lives" – prompting speculation that we could see extended families brought together tonight.
We know, for instance, that Tubridy was very taken with Supervalu's emotional Christmas ad, which saw a young boy surprised by the visit of his granddad over the festive period in spite of the pandemic.
Could tonight deliver something similar? If so, remember: you heard it here first.
