Portugal has re-opened to Brits as a holiday destination following the FCO's change in travel advice.
The Foreign Office no longer advises against all but essential travel to Portugal - meaning that a last-minute getaway to the sunny hotspot could be on the cards.
The good news is that if you are thinking you may try and head to Portugal for some summer sunshine, you don't necessarily need to break the bank.
At the time of writing, we've spotted a few budget-friendly deals for those who do want to escape for some sunshine.
Check out some of the offers we've spotted below - we've included both flight only deals as well as package holidays.
Cheap flights
- Jet2 has announced it is resuming flights to Faro with fares from £35 in August and September.
- easyJet currently has flights to Portugal from £19.99 from a number of UK airports.
- Ryanair has fares going for less than £30 in September. August prices are a lot higher but there were a handful of fares under £20 left when we took a look. The airline currently has a sale with fares from £19.99 to the likes of Faro and Lisbon.
Skyscanner can be a good source for comparing flight prices - when we took a look there were flights from £19 for August and September, based on two people travelling.
Package holidays to Portugal
- Jet2holidays has resumed Algarve holidays, and when we took a look we found packages from £372pp in August, as well as deals from £378pp in September.
- On the Beach has packages from £198pp in August based on two people sharing a room and staying on a room only basis in the Algarve. When we looked for September, we found deals from £128pp for similar stays.
- Lastminute.com has heaps of tempting offers on including Lagos breaks from £269pp, Faro from £310pp and Lisbon from £202pp.
- Loveholidays has deals on five-night stays with packages from £105pp in August and offers from £128pp in September.
- TUI has packages from £259pp in September based on two people travelling for seven nights, on a self-catering basis.
- easyJet Holidays is offering four-night breaks from £168pp in September based on two people travelling.
- Icelolly is offering a number of packages including seven-nights from £558pp in the Algarve, as well as all-inclusive packages from £259pp for travel in October.
Brits who head to Portugal on holiday won't need to quarantine when they arrive, however entry requirements include health screenings for all arrivals.
If you are heading to Madeira, Porto Santo or the Azores, you will need to take a COVID-19 test before you travel or on arrival.
