Last-minute holidays in Wales to book for this weekend to make the most of the weather

Are you suffering from post-holiday or even just plain old Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday blues? Or the thought of sitting under a parasol in your back garden or a park isn't mustering up the same excitement as a little excursion to the Algarve?

Well, we've got just the thing. With the weather set to be positively Mediterranean this week, it seems a last-minute staycation that isn't too far to travel - is the best solution.

Whether you're looking for a boujie break or a getaway that isn't too detrimental to the pursestrings, we've selected a handful of fabulously fancy and frugal trips in and around Wales that will fill that vacation void for the weekend of Friday, August 12 to Sunday, August 14 that might just take your fancy.

Situated overlooking the Preseli Mountains and the gorgeous town of Narbeth (a mere two miles away), this 18-century country house is the perfect place to relax, unwind and explore the luscious landscape of west Wales. Dubbed as a 'Restaurant with Rooms', you won't just enjoy a beautiful night's sleep but be well fed too in one of its two dining areas - The Fernery and The Artisan Rooms.

This luxury hotel also recently received the top gong at this year's prestigious Catey awards in the Independent Hotel of the Year category. If that doesn't entice you, with this hotel, you can take advantage of Booking.com's Genius discount (10%).

For the perfect romantic getaway, Tŷ Milford Waterfront, part of The Celtic Collection, covers everything you need for a Pembrokeshire staycation. Hunter Lodges, Newport

Another of the Celtic Collection's incredible staycation spots, this self-catering lodge in the stunning Usk Valley is a paradise in the heart of Wales. Accommodating up to eight adults plus two children, it features four double ensuite bedrooms, a sauna and hot tub.

And for three nights from Friday, August 12, it'll cost you £2,001 - that's approximately £250 pp.

Hafan y Môr Holiday Park, Pwllheli

This holiday park in Pwllheli, North Wales, has everything you need to keep the whole family entertained. There's a bar, evening entertainment, a swimming pool, a lazy river and a number of water slides. Plus outdoor activities such as fencing, archery and bungee trampolines.

For three nights from Friday, August 12 in a six sleeper bronze standard 'haven' Caravan, it'll cost £499 - for the whole family complete with access to swimming pools and some of the activities on offer.

For the 'Haven Hideaway', where access to extra facilities is an added cost, it'll be £399.
