Nearly 1 million spectators are expected to attend the upcoming commemoration event, as estimated by the French Interior Ministry. This event holds significant historical importance, as it may be the last major gathering where living veterans are able to participate.
Approximately 200 veterans from Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States, many of whom are over 100 years old, are anticipated to make the journey to the event. These veterans played a crucial role in shaping the modern world through their actions on that particular day.

Charles Djou, the secretary of the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC), emphasized the historical significance of the event. He highlighted that many aspects of the modern world can be traced back to the events of that day. The presence of a large group of veterans who fought on that day coming together for possibly the last time adds a poignant touch to the commemoration, especially given the current global context.
