Last Breath exclusive trailer: Documentary tells terrifying true story of stranded diver

Chris Lemons thought it was just another ordinary day at work.

The commercial diver descended 262ft underwater for a routine inspection of a drilling structure at the Huntington oil field, 115 miles east of Peterhead, Aberdeenshire.

Yet, his boat began to drift after a problem with its dynamic positioning system, causing his “umbilical” line, supplying both air and heat, became snagged and was severed, leaving him with only his emergency air tank – with only 5 minutes of breathing gas and rescue 30 minutes away.

A new documentary, Last Breath, examines this dramatic true story through first-hand accounts, alongside archive and black box footage and underwater reconstructions.

Directed by Alex Parkinson and Richard da Costa, the film premiered at this year’s Glasgow Film Festival and now arrives at UK cinemas.

Last Breath is released in UK cinemas on 5 April.
