Toppled power lines in Las Vegas are raising suspicions from residents who question how the severe windstorm seemed to spare everything except the city's power infrastructure.
Powerful winds topping 70 mpg swept through the Las Vegas valley on Tuesday, delaying flights and leaving over 33,000 NV Energy customers without power, KLAS reported. Nearly 50 power line poles sustained damaged.

A TikTok video shows fallen power line poles littering Tropicana Avenue. "This goes for miles," the creator says. "What the hell is going on?" While all the power lines are down, nearby trees are intact and mysteriously, no branches or other debris accompany the damaged power line in the street.
While the National Weather Service issued dust storm and severe thunderstorm warnings and local news outlets reported widespread outages, residents flooded social media with doubts about the official narrative.
The wind only targeted the electrical poles and one tree?

"Ok, tinfoil hat moment: How does the wind know to just knock out the power lines...but not the taller trees, business signs, roofs, shingles, street & construction signs," asked an X user.
Another Las Vegas resident wrote, "Trees all around and ain't the first f---ing leaf or limb or anything else damaged??!?!?"
Some suggested sabotage or neglect rather than weather was to blame. "That doesn't look like the result of wind. It looks like someone went down that road knocking down all the poles," said one user. "Total bull crap — poles rated for up to 130 mph...down from gusts of 70-100??? Neglect or sabotage," suspected another.
Can yall get whoever installed those trees to help put the poles back up? Looks like they knew a thing or two 🤔

NV Energy acknowledged the extensive damage and said crews were working around the clock to restore service. The utility company blamed the outages on the intense and sudden windstorm, which also triggered a dust alert and delayed flights leaving Harry Reid International Airport by over an hour.
I mean talk about exposing cost cutting on important infrastructure 😱

glad no one was injured
Officials say an investigation into the damage and how it occurred is ongoing. Meanwhile, many locals remain suspicious and without electricity.
