Broadcasting legend Larry King has revealed he was placed in a coma after suffering a stroke and remembers virtually nothing from that time.
The 86-year-old spoke with ExtraTV at an event for his birthday where he said he was positive about his health and that “everything got better except my left foot and I’ve been rehabbing that every day. And they told me I’ll be walking by Christmas. Not bad.”
He added: “My head doctor said I have an incomparable spirit.”
King also told Page Six: “They thought I was going to die in March. They told my two boys to come home. It was really touch-and-go.
“I don’t remember any of it, because I was out the whole time. I had a sepsis infection, I had a new stent put on the heart. It’s been amazing – everyone tells me they can’t believe I made it through.”
Asked about Donald Trump and the forthcoming presidential elections, King said he does not recognise the man currently sitting in the White House.
“I’ve known Donald for 40 years. This Donald is not the Donald I knew,” he said. “The Donald I knew was a moderate, big supporter of Hillary Clinton, opposed to the war in Iraq. But this Donald is a different Donald to me.”
