Larry Fitzgerald: The game won’t be the same without Eli Manning

Arizona Cardinals great and future Hall of Fame wide receiver, Larry Fitzgerald, had some parting words for New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning as he prepares to hang up his cleats for good.

News broke of Manning’s impending retirement on Wednesday, which will be made official during a press conference on Friday.

In the wake of that news, current and former NFL players all had kind words for the future Hall of Fame quarterback, including Fitzgerald.

New Orleans Saints quarterback and future Hall of Famer, Drew Brees, also showed immense respect for Manning, saying “you can not write the story of the NFL without including Eli Manning.”

While there are plenty of detractors out there who make the wild claim that Manning, who is a two-time Super Bowl MVP and ranks seventh in completions, touchdowns and passing yards, is not a Hall of Famer, clearly his NFL brethren think differently.

And I’ll take their word for it over some guy angry tweeting or some “analyst” who tries to have a hot take that Manning doesn’t deserve to be in Canton. At the end of the day, the word of NFL greats like Brees and Fitzgerald trumps those outlandish opinions.

The reality is Manning deserves the honor that will eventually be bestowed upon him, and the haters can’t do anything to change that.
