Larry Fitzgerald had the best response to his dad’s phone going off mid-interview

The biggest wild card in sports journalism is a cell phone ringing during an interview.

Sometimes, the interviewee will be furious. Other times, like earlier this year with Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella, he or she will pick it up and answer it. There could be a funny joke about it, and the moment will go viral.

In this case, with Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, it’s that last one.

The future Hall of Famer was in the middle of a postgame scrum when a reporter’s phone went off, interrupting him. The phone happened to belong to his father, Larry Fitzgerald Sr., a longtime reporter, so the younger Fitzgerald stared daggers and said, “Can we get some professionalism here, please?”

Too good.
