Larry Fitzgerald dubbed No. 1 Cardinal of all time

Who is the greatest player in Arizona Cardinals history? Ask someone from the days in St. Louis and they will say Larry Wilson. Some might say Aeneas Williams.

However, most would agree on one player in particular today.

That would be receiver Larry Fitzgerald.

The staff at AZCentral Sports agrees. In their list of the top 100 players in franchise history, Fitz lands at the very top.

Larry Fitzgerald isn’t done with his Cardinals career yet, but he still leads the franchise in receiving yards (16,279), receptions (1,303) and touchdowns (116) — and it isn’t close. He’s been named to the Pro Bowl in 11 of his 15 seasons with the Cardinals so far, and in the team’s four postseason performances since his 2004 debut, he’s dominated the playoffs, including contributing 30 receptions for 546 yards in the Cardinals’ 2008 Super Bowl loss.

He really has done it all. He will be No. 2 all-time in both receptions and receiving yards. He had more than 100 receptions three straight years in his 30s. He is still probably the most respected player in the entire league.

He took the Cardinals to the brink of a championship and has been big in big moments.

What more can he do?

He definitely deserves that No. 1 spot in franchise history.

Enjoy it while it lasts, Cardinals fans. There can’t be many games left in his career.
