Larne announce signing of former Arsenal midfielder Mark Randall

Larne have announced the signing of former Arsenal midfielder Mark Randall.

Randall becomes Tiernan Lynch’s first signing of the transfer window as the newly-promoted side prepares for its return to the Premiership.

The midfielder - who has also had spells with clubs including MK Dons, Chesterfield, Newport and Crawley Town - will join up with former teammate Ben Tilney when the squad gather for pre-season training next week.

“I spent a week here before the end of last season and I really enjoyed it,” Randall told the club's website.

“I could see that it was a great environment, and after speaking to the gaffer and Kenny Bruce I could see the journey the club have been on and what they want to do.

“I’m excited to get started and see what this first season back in the Premiership will bring.

“I spoke to Ben Tilney a lot and he absolutely loves it, so that was another great indicator for me.”

Larne 's first team manager Lynch added: “We’re absolutely delighted to bring a player of Mark’s calibre into the club.

“He’s the sort of player we need to bring in to help us to where we need to get to.

“Mark came in to train with is just over a month ago and he showed all the attributes we’re looking for him to bring next season.

“He’s a very good footballer, he has experience and is good in the changing room.”
