Larkhall man to be supervised and undergo alcohol counselling after being caught with a blade

A repeat knife carrier avoided a prison sentence at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week.

Jae Smith (24) of Duneaton Wynd, Larkhall, will be supervised for 12 months and undergo alcohol counselling.

Smith admitted having a blade in Westerton Avenue, Larkhall, on March 9 and spent several weeks in custody before being sentenced.

He will also be electronically tagged for six weeks, meaning he can’t leave the house between 7pm and 7am each day.

The court heard Smith has a previous conviction for a carrying a knife.
