Larkhall man given 100 hours unpaid community work for spitting on police

A Larkhall man who spat at a police officer has been told he must complete 100 hours of unpaid community work.

Ryan Wardrop, 25, of Robert Smillie Crescent, was sentenced at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.

He admitted assaulting PC Gary Mackie by spitting on his head in Robert Smillie Crescent on July 26.

Wardrop was allowed six months to complete the work order.
