Larkhall man causes rammy at Wishaw hospital

A Larkhall man broke a pub window then caused a disturbance in a hospital casualty unit.

Darren Johnstone, 36, of Millburn Cottage, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week.

He admitted punching and damaging a window at the Royal Bar in London Street, Larkhall, on April 7.

Johnstone also admitted threatening or abusive behaviour in Wellgate Street, Larkhall, while in a police vehicle and at Wishaw General Hospital.

The court heard that he shouted abuse, struck his head repeatedly against the vehicle, pretended to be unconscious and also urinated.

He was on bail for other matters at the time of the offences.

Sheriff Vincent Smith put Johnstone under supervision for a year and ordered him to get alcohol counselling.

He must also do 60 hours of unpaid community work.
