A large sinkhole has opened, closing a major road through Falkirk tonight.
Emergency services were alerted to a pavement that had collapsed on Bellsdyke Road at around 6:10pm.
The hole, which has appeared outside Bellsdyke Hospital, is reported to be around 5ft wide.
Pictures from the scene show firefighters examining the area with a cordon in place.

It’s understood crews are waiting on electrical and gas engineers because cables and pipes have been exposed.
No injuries have been reported and the road is expected to remain closed for some time.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We have been made aware of the hole in the roadway on Bellsdyke Road, Larbert on Tuesday, 19 October.
"Officers are currently assisting with road closures."
