Large shipment of cocaine with fake Liverpool FC branding seized

Police in Paraguay have seized a large haul of cocaine wrapped in fake Liverpool FC branding.

Special agents made the discovery when they raided a house in Pedro Juan Caballero last Wednesday (November 24.)

Police seized 500 packages of cocaine and later announced the haul was around 215KG.

The cocaine was wrapped in fake Liverpool FC branding, which included the world famous Liver Bird.

The police raid was headed by SENAD, an elite agency which leads the South American country's fight against drug gangs and organised crime.

A spokesperson for SENAD said: "Special Agents in coordination with the prosecutor Celso Morales, raided a house located in the Mariscal Estigarribia neighborhood of Pedro Juan Caballero on Wednesday night. In the place they found an important cache of cocaine.

"In total 215 kilos of the drug were seized. It was prepared in small packages that was to be transported in a double bottom vehicle to Brazil."

The spokesperson said no arrests had been made so far.

The matter is now subject to an ongoing police investigation.
