Large police presence spotted near woods in Brislington

A large police presence was spotted near woods in Bristol today (Saturday, October 2).

Around 10 squad cars were seen on Allison Road, in Brislington, just before 3pm, as rain battered the city without pause.

A local woman who drove past the officers at the time said they appeared to be "looking in the woods".

Just after 4pm this afternoon, an Avon and Somerset Police spokesman explained what they were doing.

He said: "Police received a call to report a missing child. Officers attended and the child has now been found."

It is now understood that officers have left the area.

Earlier today, police also confirmed that missing Sophie, 14, from Bridgwater, had been found and last night they announced that Goncalo, 24, had turned up as well.

You can report a missing person using this form on the Avon and Somerset Police website.
