Large police presence in Walkden as officers called to reports of 'disturbance'

Police say they are responding to reports of a disturbance in Walkden.

There is currently a large police presence on the A6 Manchester Road between Harriet Street and Egerton Road.

Pictures from the scene show a number of officers and police cars as well as ambulances and an NWAS incident response unit.

A spokesperson for GMP was unable to say at this time what the exact the nature of the incident is, other than it is a disturbance.

A number of ambulances and a NWAS incident response unit is also at the scene (ASP)

They said: "All we can say is that we have been called to reports of a a disurbance. The investigation is still ongoing."

It is unknown if there have been any injuries or arrests.
