Large police presence at Edinburgh seaside bay in search for missing ex midwife

A large police presence has been spotted at an Edinburgh seaside bay in search for missing ex-midwife Elaine McArthur.

Several cop cars and vans were seen in the Wardie Bay area of the city earlier today.

Elaine McArthur, who has 'dedicated her life to the NHS ', was reported missing on April 18 after she was last seen walking along Crewe Road North at around 12.40pm.

Her worried friends and family have issued emotional appeals for help over the last few days.

Yesterday her son Harry begged for answers to his 'extremely vulnerable' mothers whereabouts.

Pleading for information he said in a video: 'we love and miss you'.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "This activity  is to do with the ongoing search for missing person Elaine McArthur."
