Large police presence after young man's body found

A young man in his 20s was found dead inside a property in Birkenhead this morning.

Emergency services were called out at 7.10am after the alarm was raised but sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The currently unexplained death is not believed to be suspicious and enquiries are ongoing to trace the man’s next of kin.

The police confirmation comes following reports of a large police presence near the Crown pub on Conway Street earlier today, with around seven police vehicles and an ambulance attending the scene.
