Greater Manchester Police told the M.E.N that a man has suffered a 'medical episode' this evening.

No further information is available at this time, but the North West Ambulance Service has been contacted.

Images from the scene show a police cordon around the edge of the premises.

One witness said: "I saw three normal police cars, a van, an ambulance and then a paramedic bike.

"It was quite a big response to whatever has happened. At first, it looked like a police crime scene because of how many vehicles were there.

"The smoking and seating area outside the front of the cafe was cordoned off by police.

"The paramedics and police all seemed to be working within the area at the front. It looked like there was a lot going on."

Another onlooker who worked nearby said: "I had been working and hadn't realised what was going on.

"I just looked outside and saw four police cars and an ambulance.
