Large Nottingham bowling alley applies to create crazy golf course

A big bowling alley situated in Nottingham city centre has applied to add crazy golf on the first floor of its premises. Nottingham Bowl in Belward Street is owned by Disco Bowl Ltd and is the UK's biggest bowling centre, with 48 lanes across two floors.

The company plans to refurbish parts of the bowling alley, which would include removing offices and relocating a bar to create the area, according to a licensing application document submitted to Nottingham City Council. This is the only change that seems to have been submitted, and opening hours will remain unchanged.

According to design plans, when looking at the bowling alley's entrance, the crazy golf area will be built on the first floor on the left-hand side, towards the front of the building. There will still be office space in that area, too.

In November 2019, the venue had a £750,000 makeover, featuring state-of-the-art string pin lanes, shabby chic bar, DJ hosts, Namco arcade, pizza menu and an improved drinks offer. When reopening as lockdown eased in May last year, two lanes of smart darts have been installed, along with refurbished toilets and improved décor lighting and sound.
