Large fire shuts Miller & Carter steakhouse in Cardiff

A large fire has caused extensive damage to a popular Miller & Carter restaurant in Cardiff.

The blaze happened in the early hours of Monday morning, just weeks after the restaurant reopened following lockdown.

Pictures show smoke and flames coming from the site and widespread damage inside.

The restaurant said they will be closed until further notice.

On Facebook they said: "With a heavy heart due to a serious fire that happened earlier today [Monday] we will be closed till further notice."

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said three crews attended the fire.

A fire service spokeswoman said: "At approximately 4.41am on Monday August 17, 2020, we received reports of a building fire in Lisvane, Cardiff.

"Crews from Whitchurch, Caerphilly and Cardiff Central station attended the scene and extinguished the fire.

"The incident concluded at approximately 5.41am."
