Large fire breaks out at Scottish reservoir as group of 30 youths spotted at the scene

A large fire broke out at a reservoir in Fife with a large group of youths spotted at the scene.

Images from Coul Reservoir in Glenrothes show flames spreading in the area, with a gathering of young people stood nearby. One person was even seen lying on the ground close to the scene of the fire.

Fire crews were called to the area shortly before 8pm, and they could be seen speaking to the group after the blaze was eventually put out.

As reported by the Daily Record, an eye-witness said: "A group of around 30 teens were all out at Coul Reservoir in Glenrothes, setting fire to the area."

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We can confirm we were called to the report of a small grass fire.

"We had one appliance in attendance.

"We received a call at 7.53pm and it was extinguished using two water backpacks."
