Large emergency services response after car flips on its roof and rolls down embankment on Princess Road

A major inner city road was closed after a car flipped on its roof and rolled down an embankment.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene following the crash on Princess Road in Hulme just before 7pm on Wednesday.

One person suffered injuries described as 'not serious' in the smash.

The southbound carriageway was closed for about an hour while the car was recovered.

An onlooker said the car appeared to be a Vauxhall Astra.

He added: "It was on the embankment on its roof

"There were three fire engines. They had the light rig up, so they could see what they were doing.

"It looked like a man was being stretchered to the ambulance."
