A large crowd was filmed gathered together in public in Swansea drinking and dancing in an apparent breach of coronavirus regulations.
Video footage has been shared online showing the crowd together in the SA1 area of the city on Good Friday. A witness estimated there were a few hundred people present. The footage captures groups of young people jumping up and down, dancing in a huddle whilst holding their smartphones in the air to capture footage of what was going on.
It comes after widespread anger over a very large gathering in Cardiff Bay, which saw hundreds of people drinking and singing around the Senedd building on Good Friday. Three people there were arrested and South Wales Police have now put powers in place to enable them to exclude people from Cardiff Bay.
In the video filmed in Swansea, many are holding cans and takeaway pint glasses in their hands as they dance along to music which can be heard in the background. Others are stood slightly away from the huddle watching on and hugging their friends. Welsh Government coronavirus restrictions state that people must follow social distancing rules with people they do not live with or who are not in their support bubble.
There is also a limit on the number of people you can meet socially, with a maximum of six people from two households being able to meet outdoors, including in private gardens. South Wales Police has been contacted for comment.
