Large cannabis grow found at Nottingham home

Officers uncovered a substantial cannabis grow after responding to a report of a burglary in Nottingham's Edwards Lane estate.

A total of 118 plants and associated growing equipment were seized after they were found in two bedrooms and the loft of a property in Archdale Road just before 8am on Wednesday, August 5.

The electricity supply to the property had been bypassed.

No one was found inside the property and no arrests have been made to date.

Inspector Christine Busuttil, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "The illegal production and supply of drugs will not be tolerated in our communities.

“That's why we are as committed as ever to taking drugs off our streets and pursuing those involved in their production and distribution.

"Drugs blight communities and ruin lives. Their sale is often used to fund further criminality.

“As always, our most useful weapon against drug dealers is information we receive from local residents.

"If any members of the public have any concerns or suspicions about drugs in their neighbourhoods I would urge them to report them by calling Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

The Incident Number for this crime is 0824_04082020.
